About

I made this for myself first.

Why it exists

Three separate people were holding me accountable this year, and by the summer none of them were. Not one of them walked away. One let a standing call get rescheduled until it stopped being a standing call, one got genuinely busy, and one moved eight time zones away. Each of those arrangements needed two adults with full lives to agree on a moment in time, over and over, forever.

So I built the smallest thing that keeps the supporter and deletes the scheduling. I use it every week, and I am in it the same way everyone else is: three goals on Sunday, an answer on Friday, and three people who see both.

What it is

Set up to three goals on Sunday. Answer done or not done on Friday at 5pm. The people you choose see what you set out to do and how it went, and nothing else. It takes about seven minutes a week.

Your supporters pay nothing, create no account and download nothing. They get two emails a week, they can tap once or write a line back, and you can remove them at any time.

What it costs

One price, and a yearly option on it, all laid out here. The first two weeks are free, so the first payment lands after two closed weeks. Cancel in one tap, and cancelling inside that month means nothing is charged.

A goal you do not finish costs you nothing here. That is the difference between KeMA and the tools in this category that fine you when you slip.

Who I am

I spent about twenty years building things for other people. Strategy at BCG and then McKinsey, where I was an expert associate partner and global lead for Leap, the firm’s new-business-building practice. In between, four years as an operator at Flashfood, a food-waste marketplace, where I helped take it from four grocery stores to more than a thousand live.

KeMA is the first thing I have built for myself instead of a client, which is both the appeal and the disclosure.

Who it is probably not for

If you want a daily habit tracker, streaks, or a feed, this is the wrong product and there are good ones elsewhere. If the thing you are avoiding is genuinely a time-management problem and not an accountability one, a calendar will serve you better. And if you have nobody you would want to see your Friday answer, the supporter is the mechanism, so running without one is the weaker version of KeMA. It still works and nothing is held back.

Where it is

KeMA is in its initial pilot. It is a new product, the people using it are the first to, and what they say shapes what gets built next. That is the reason the price is what it is, the reason the first two weeks are free, and the reason a person rather than a queue answers when you write in.

Reaching a person

If the price is wrong, if something is missing that would make you actually use this, or if a week went badly and you want to say why, I would rather hear it now than find out when you leave.

Write to eric@erictribe.com and I answer. Not a support queue, not a chatbot. If you are deciding whether to pay for this and something is unclear, that is a good reason to write, and I would rather answer the question than take money from somebody it does not fit.
