Privacy

KeMA is a small product run by one person. It is operated by Tribe Ventures LLC. This page says what it collects, why, and who ever sees it. If anything here is unclear, reply to any email from us and a person will answer.

What we collect

Your name and email address, so we can sign you in and write to you. Your time zone, so a Sunday evening lands on your Sunday. The goals you write, the status you give each one, and when you set them and closed each week. The first names of the supporters you name, up to three of them, and their email addresses if you choose to send them an invitation. If you give us a mobile number, that too.

We do not run advertising, we do not use tracking pixels to follow you around other websites, and we do not buy data about you from anybody.

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us: we hold the subscription status, the plan you chose, and the dates payments were taken, which is what we need to know whether your account is active. Stripe holds the rest under its own privacy policy.

If somebody named you

If a member named you, we hold your first name and your email address, and a mobile number only if one was given. We use them to send you two messages a week about that one person, and for nothing else. You are not signed up for anything and you have no account. Every message has a link that stops them, and you can also write to us and ask to be removed and deleted, whether or not the member who named you does anything.

Before you have an account

There is an assessment on this site, called Where you are, that asks how satisfied you are with each of eight areas of your life. If you ask us to email you the result, we keep your email address, your answers and the areas you said you wanted to start with. We use them to send you that result, and to understand who this product is for. If you take it without asking for the result, your answers stay in your own browser and never reach us.

If you try to subscribe and our payment provider cannot open a checkout, we keep the email address you gave so we can come back to you rather than lose you at that moment.

In both cases you can reply to any email from us and ask to be deleted, and we will.

Who sees your goals

The supporters you name, up to three, see the goals you set and the answers you give on Friday. That is the entire point of the product and it only happens when you send them an invitation. You can remove a supporter at any time, from your week page, and they stop receiving anything immediately.

Beyond that, your goals are seen by the operator of KeMA for the purpose of running and improving it, and by the AI provider described in the next section, which processes them on our instruction and for no purpose of its own. They are not published, not shared with other members, and not sold.

The line KeMA writes about your weeks

KeMA sometimes shows you one short observation about your own weeks, and it is written by an AI model rather than by a person. To write it, the goals you set, whether each one happened, and anything you wrote about what got in the way are sent to Anthropic, which runs the model. It happens on our instruction and for that purpose only.

Anthropic states that by default it does not use inputs or outputs from its commercial products to train its models. We do not send it your name, your email address, your phone number, or anything about your supporters. The observation is shown to you. It is never sent to a supporter, and a supporter still sees only what they saw before: the goals you set and the answers you gave on Friday.

If you would rather this did not happen to your weeks, reply to any email from us and say so, and we will turn it off for your account.

Text messages

If you give us a mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we use it only to send you the reminders you signed up for. Message frequency is a small number each week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help.

Mobile information, including your number and your consent to be texted, is never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. It is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf, and only so that the message can be delivered.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers to run the product: a database and authentication host, an email delivery provider, a text message delivery provider, a website host, a payment provider, and Anthropic, which runs the AI model described above. They process data on our instructions in order to provide those services. Data is stored in the United States.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Ask us to delete your account and we delete your profile, your goals and your weeks. Some records may persist briefly in routine backups before they age out.

Your choices

Every email carries a link to turn the volume down or off. Every text can be stopped by replying STOP. You can remove anybody you have named, at any time. You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by replying to any email from us.

Children

KeMA is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes and contact

This page is dated, and the date changes when the page does. If we ever start sending your data to somebody new, or use it for something this page does not describe, we will write to you before we do. To reach a person, reply to any message from KeMA, or write to us at the postal address below.
